Toddler

Our Toddler environment supports children ages 18 to 36 months.  The Toddler curriculum focuses on the developmental areas of independence, language acquisition, gross-motor skills, fine-motor skills, peaceful social interactions and contact with nature.  The areas of the classroom include Practical Life, Gross Motor, Language, Math, a Community Circle, a reading corner and a Peace Corner.  Parker, the bunny, is a favorite member of the classroom community.

Each day, students enjoy a morning work cycle, community circle time, and outdoor time.  All students bring their own lunches and snack is provided.  Students who remain for the afternoon session are afforded a nap or rest period.

Students need not be fully independent with their toilet habits as the teachers work to support children's growing awareness and independence in this area of their development.

The Toddler Program schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 12:15 PM.  Extended care for Toddlers is offered from 12:15 PM to 2:45 PM.  There are twelve toddlers with a Montessori-certified lead teacher and a classroom assistant.
