Elementary

The elementary program operates in two classroom environments - Lower Elementary and Upper Elementary, each with one Montessori-certified lead teacher and one assistant.

Curriculum

Students in the elementary level build upon the foundational skills and knowledge from their experiences in the toddler and early childhood levels.  The Montessori curriculum is inter-related, flexible and, for the elementary aged child, designed to spark their imaginations.  Students work in areas of reading, writing, math, Practical Life, history, geography, world cultures, art, music, science, explorations of nature and learning about respectful social interactions.  Lessons are given one-on-one or in small groups and collaboration is encouraged.  Students learn from and with each other.

Enrichment programs include Spanish language instruction, music, drama, science fair and group sports activities.  After-school activities have included art club, chess, soccer, fencing and cross-country.
